Jennie Schmidt is an old pro at stewarding herbicide use in grain crops alongside sensitive specialty crops and organic fields. On her operation on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, she grows genetically modified corn and soybeans and has been a vocal advocate for the use of biotechnology in agriculture, once serving as the first female president of the Maryland Grain Producers Utilization Board.
