North Carolina operative charged in connection with 9th District ballot fraud

Weeks before voters go to the polls in a redo election, a Republican operative has been indicted in connection with a  ballot fraud scheme that led to last year’s election being invalidated in a North Carolina House district. The Wake County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Leslie McCrae Dowless Jr. on charges of felony obstruction of justice, perjury, conspiracy to obstruct justice and possession of absentee ballot. Seven other individuals allegedly involved were also indicted.
