Senate leaders haven’t decided when they plan to vote on legislation that would avoid a $125 billion discretionary spending cut as well as a default on the nation’s debt. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky reiterated Wednesday morning that he still expects a vote before the chamber leaves for its August recess, but he declined to give a more specific timetable.
