Small businesses, real estate agents and others with statewide trade groups could band together to set up health insurance plans without all the federal mandates that came with the Affordable Care Act under legislation that passed the House on Wednesday on a bipartisan vote. Senate Bill 86 was a high priority for North Carolina Realtors, the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association and the North Carolina Chamber, all of which are looking for more affordable ways for members to provide health insurance for their employees and for themselves.
