When it comes to predicting winter weather, there's no source more authoritative than the planting guide and bathroom read of our ancestors. The Farmers' Almanac is right up there with Punxsutawney Phil — we don't put too much stock in the predictions, but it's hard not be crestfallen when agrarians or a large rodent tell you there's slush in your future.
