Little has changed during the past week, with brown marmorated stink bug and apple maggot being pests of concern. BMSB trap captures are highly variable among orchards, with trap captures ranging from 0 to about 17 bugs per trap. Among the 26 orchards sampled, 12 have less than 1 bug per trap, 7 had 1 to 3 bugs per trap, and 7 had captures greater than 5 per trap. For cultivars to be harvested after mid September, an insecticide targeting BMSB should be considered the first week of September.
