A half-day conference on E. coli O157:H7 is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, in Chicago. The conference is being sponsored by AAMP, AMSA, CMA, NMA, SEMA, SMA and NAMP, whose annual Management Conference immediately follows the mini-conference.

The half-day meeting will feature Kerri Harris, president of the International HACCP Alliance, and James Marsden, Regent's Distinguished Professor at Kansas State University.

Harris is expected to discuss the training and tools that FSIS officials use to conduct Food Safety Assessments. Marsden is due to talk about how processors of non-intact beef can best ensure the safety of their products.

Attendees also will hear directly from intervention technology suppliers.
