USDA announced December 3, 2019, as the application due date for the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). On October 29, 2019, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in North Carolina will be host to a RCPP meeting for partners interested in the Program. RCPP promotes coordination of NRCS conservation activities with partners that offer value-added contributions to expand our collective ability to address on-farm, watershed, and regional natural resource concerns. During the meeting, NRCS will provide detailed information about the changes to the program under the new Farm Bill, eligibility requirements, guidance on the allocations of technical assistance funding, project outcomes and data reporting, and additional application changes.

Through RCPP, NRCS seeks to co-invest with partners to implement projects that demonstrate innovative solutions to conservation challenges and provide measurable improvements and outcomes tied to the resource concerns they seek to address. Potential partners are encouraged to submit proposals that will improve the nation’s water quality, combat drought, enhance soil health, support wildlife habitat and protect agricultural viability. Partners may request between $250,000 and $10 million in RCPP funding through this funding announcement. Leveraging of this NRCS funding is a key principle of RCPP; partners are expected to make value-added contributions to amplify the impact of RCPP funding. RCPP eligible partners include private industry, non-government organizations, state and local governments, water districts, and universities.

The RCPP Partnership meeting will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 am on October 29, 2019, at:
2907 East Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27401.

All partners interested in attending the meeting are strongly encouraged to RSVP by emailing USDA NRCS Public Affairs Officer Stuart Lee at Stuart.Lee@nc.usda.gov, by October 23, 2019.
