Apparel manufacturer bringing new mill, 85 jobs, to Triad city

Gildan (NYSE: GIL) is growing its footprint in Rockingham County. Gildan Yarns, the yarn spinning division of the Montreal, Canada-based apparel manufacturer, announced Wednesday it is investing approximately $17 million to establish a new mill operation in Eden, creating 85 new jobs. The announcement was by the N.C. Department of Commerce at Eden City Hall.  The new location at 335 Summit Road will be the company’s fifth yarn spinning mill in the state.
