President Donald Trump said he had not yet agreed to remove tariffs on Chinese goods as part of the first phase of a deal aimed at ending the 20-month US-China trade war. US and Chinese officials had indicated on Thursday that both sides had reached a deal to reduce some tariffs to secure a “phase one” deal. But Mr Trump cautioned on Friday that he not yet approved the deal that is being hammered out by his trade negotiators.
