Thaddeus Pender Sharp Jr., founder of Sharp Farms and patriarch of a multigenerational agricultural family in Wilson County, died Friday at age 88. “Mr. Thad was the founder and patriarch of Sharp Farms,” said Norman Harrell, director of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension office in Wilson County. “He provided leadership for the farm for many years and helped bring recognition to Sharp Farms as an internationally known swine producer.”
