On Thursday morning, N.C. Environmental Secretary Michael Regan visited the North Cove community and saw firsthand the impact of flooding and landslides on northern McDowell County. Regan visited the North Cove Overlook and the area around the English dairy farm to discuss the importance of agriculture and tourism to western North Carolina’s economy. He also inspected landslide damage in the area along U.S. 221 North to understand how to better protect mountain communities.
