North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper says an analysis of the state’s offshore wind potential will move forward despite a months-long impasse over the state budget. “We’re going to do the studies regardless,” Cooper told the Energy News Network this week after speaking at a gathering of wind energy advocates and businesses in Cary, just outside the state capital. “We know we need to move to a clean energy future in order to fight climate change, but we also know that clean energy creates so many good-paying jobs for the people of North Carolina.
