The late Emmett Wayne Beard Sr. was inducted into the Cumberland County Agricultural Hall of Fame on Friday, according to a news release from the county. The recognition was part of the annual Farm City Week program held by the Cumberland County Cooperative Extension and the Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville. Jake Parker, the North Carolina Farm Bureau chief legal officer, was the guest speaker. Also at the event, Adam Horne was recognized as the 2019 Cumberland County Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year.
