A majority of EU countries voted to ban chlorpyrifos, an insecticide deemed unsafe for human health by the EU’s food safety watchdog this year. The European Food Safety Authority established links between the substance and brain-damage in children, also classifying the pesticide as presumably being toxic for human reproduction.
