Governor Roy Cooper announced that Larry Wooten will be the first recipient of the North Carolina Rural Leadership Award. Governor Roy Cooper and Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler presented Larry Wooten with the first North Carolina Rural Leadership Award at a reception in November at the Executive Mansion. Wooten will retire from his longtime post as president of the North Carolina Farm Bureau at the end of this year.
