The 2020 meeting season is upon us. We currently have several cotton production meetings slated across the state from January 31  through February 12, 2020. These meetings will include the latest applied research and Extension recommendations regarding cotton agronomics, variety selection, insect and weed control, new developments in cotton diseases, and will also discuss the new N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Sevices Cotton Seed Testing Pilot Program. Additionally, meeting dates and times for these production meetings can be found at the NC State University Cotton Portal website under “Events” along the top of the main page.

Additionally, there will be separate trainings offered to producers by our NC State University Weed Extension Specialists regarding management and stewardship of auxin herbicides. See Dr. Cahoon’s previous newsletter article “2020 Schedule: Auxin Herbicides – Best Management Practices” for details (dates, locations, times, etc.) regarding these mandatory meetings, some of which may be held in conjunction with Cotton Production Meetings. Be sure to contact your local county Extension agent for details about these cotton production meetings and/or auxin trainings near you.
