NOAA: 2019 was North Carolina’s hottest year on record

North Carolina just completed its warmest year on record, a federal agency that compiles the totals announced Wednesday. The Old North State’s average mean temperature of 61.22 degrees Fahrenheit topped the previous high, 1990’s 61.08 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the annual summary of temperatures across the country from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Centers for Environmental Information.
