Labor advocacy group American Rights at Work announced it has launched a $3 million national television ad campaign featuring workers making the case for the Employee Free Choice Act.
The ads, which began airing last week, are part of an ongoing campaign from a broad coalition of labor and workers' rights advocates working to enact the bill.
The legislation would require companies to recognize and bargain with unions as long as a majority of their labor forces sign cards expressing a desire for union representation.
Opponents of the bill, including the American Meat Institute, say the law would jeopardize a worker's right to privacy and allowed union members to bully employees into voting to organize.
