$321 million in funding awarded to continue disaster relief efforts

 Today, Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Richard Burr (R-NC) announced the Army Corps of Engineers will award an additional $281 million to Surf City/North Topsail Beach and Carteret County, N.C. for storm damage reduction projects as the communities continue to recover from Hurricanes Matthew and Florence. The news follows Thursday’s announcement that the Corps has allocated $39.6 million for a long-awaited Princeville, N.C. flood mitigation project, bringing the total investment in North Carolina to $321 million.
