AUDIENCE
The Piedmont Green Industry and Landscape Conference provides continuing education and re-certification credits for green industry professionals, including landscapers, grounds and turf managers, and greenhouse and nursery producers.

CEUs
NC LCLB Landscape contractor (3 Landscape Technical, 2 Business) and 3 N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Pesticide continuing education credits (3 D, L, N X) have been applied for; final confirmation pending.

REGISTRATION
Register online by February 4, 2020. The registration fee is $15 and includes lunch.

9:30 a.m. – How To Run A Landscape Or Small Business In The Green Industry

Paige will discuss how attention to detail and customer service as well as employee retention and mission statements all play a part in profitability. A crucial part of business management is understanding how to read profit and loss statements, income statements, and aging statements. If you don’t know what these terms are this will be a great time to implement them in your business model.

11 a.m. – Pollinators: How to Bee Active
Ryan Adams Extension Associate, Center for Integrated Pest Management, NC State Extension
Through the presentation, we will examine the challenging relationship between turf and pollinators, including: how perception has shaped the turf industry; discussion on why pollinator populations are in decline; current research at NC State University on conservation and habitat; tips to support pollinator conservation and habitat; communicating facts to the community
12:30 p.m. – Lunch (included in registration fee)
1:30 p.m. – Turf Jeopardy!

Game show style presentation with questions to challenge your turf and pesticide safety knowledge.
2:45 p.m. – How the Agricultural Services Program Can Assist Nursery/Greenhouse Growers Recruit Labor

3:30 p.m. – Wrap-up and evaluations
