A crucial part of business management is understanding how to read profit and loss statements, income statements, and aging statements. If you don’t know what these terms are this will be a great time to implement them in your business model. 10:45–11 a.m. – Break 11 a.m. – Pollinators: How to Bee Active Ryan Adams Extension Associate, Center for Integrated Pest Management, NC State Extension Through the presentation, we will examine the challenging relationship between turf and pollinators, including: how perception has shaped the turf industry; discussion on why pollinator populations are in decline; current research at NC State University on conservation and habitat; tips to support pollinator conservation and habitat; communicating facts to the community 12:30 p.m. – Lunch (included in registration fee) 1:30 p.m. – Turf Jeopardy! Matt Lenhardt Horticulture Extension Agent, N.C. Cooperative Extension, Iredell County Center Game show style presentation with questions to challenge your turf and pesticide safety knowledge. 2:45 p.m. – How the Agricultural Services Program Can Assist Nursery/Greenhouse Growers Recruit Labor Tim Dollyhite & Drew Long NC Department of Commerce Division of Workforce Solutions 3:30 p.m. – Wrap-up and evaluations
