Incentive program revealed for retention of Syngenta headquarters

The numbers are in for how Guilford County and the city of Greensboro would apply about $3.6 million in incentives to retain agri-business Syngenta Crop Protection, whose U.S. headquarters is in Greensboro. Both the Guilford Board of County Commissioners and the Greensboro City Council will hold public hearings Thursday to hear a request by Syngenta for the incentives in exchange for a guarantee it would keep its 650 jobs with an average annual salary of $107,000 in Greensboro plus invest $68 million in real property, furniture and equipment.
