Local farmers and state legislators were honored during an annual gathering of apple growers Wednesday at Blue Ridge Community College. The 2020 Winter Apple School hosted apple growers from in and outside North Carolina, who received updates and information from industry leaders. During the meeting, the Blue Ridge Apple Growers Association honored this year’s Apple Grower of the Year and Friend of the Apple Grower, and gave out a lifetime achievement award.
