Earth Fare employees file lawsuit on behalf of thousands of workers

Two days after Earth Fare announced plans to shutter all 50 stores and lay off more than 3,000 workers, an employee in Tennessee and another in Florida filed a complaint against the failed natural foods grocery chain. Earth Fare is based in Fletcher. Employees Kelsi Cornett, of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Amy Hile, of St. Johns, Florida, filed the complaint Feb. 5 on behalf of themselves and 3,400 other workers with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, where Earth Fare filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Feb. 4.
