Two of President Donald Trump’s most loyal allies are set to take the top GOP spots on two congressional committees after House Republicans unanimously approved the move during a closed-door conference meeting Tuesday morning. Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio will be the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee, and Rep. Mark Meadows, who represents North Carolina’s 11th U.S. House District, will serve as ranking member of the Oversight and Reform Committee, where they’ll be the first line of defense against Democratic oversight efforts of the administration.
