Protein exports piling up in U.S. due to coronavirus

The spread of coronavirus is causing a glut of protein in U.S. cold-storage facilities, including pork, chicken, and beef, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. The quantity of breasts, thigh meat, and drumsticks has grown by 12 percent through the first month of 2020, climbing to 957.5 million pounds, which is the highest level ever during January. The amount of pork in storage climbed 11 percent higher in January 2020 than it was at a year ago at the same time.
