Inspectors have confirmed avian influenza in two turkey flocks in NC. The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) noted the start of the outbreaks of H7N3 low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) in Union County and Anson County as March 10, affecting a total of 90,200 birds. The official report called the outbreak “continuing.” Thus far the strain of LPAI did not cause any deaths and none of the birds have been culled. Other flocks are being investigated.
