US coronavirus bill heads back to House with $300m for harvesters, aquaculture

The US Senate has voted unanimously to pass a hotly contested $2 trillion COVID-19 stimulus bill that includes $300 million in relief for commercial seafood harvesters and aquaculture farmers. The Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, HR 748, which now returns to the House of Representatives for a vote on Thursday, has been referred to casually as the “phase three" coronavirus bill. It addresses a pandemic that on Friday had caused nearly a half million illnesses and more than 21,000 deaths worldwide, including nearly 69,000 illnesses and more than 900 deaths in the US.
