U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis in a telephone town hall with North Carolinians on Tuesday defended the national and local responses to the coronavirus pandemic after a resident said it’s ruining people’s livelihoods. “President Trump said early in his briefings that what he didn’t want was for the solution to be worse than the problem,” the resident, identified as Sara, said. “And I am disappointed in the fact that he has extended this nationwide lockdown all the way through the month of April, because you cannot keep people locked away.”
