No matter where you farm in North Carolina, effectively managing water is key to your success and profitability. Be it too much rain or too little, water is often the biggest challenge facing North Carolina farmers. That’s why North Carolina State University brought on Chad Poole as Extension specialist for irrigation and water management in January. In this new position, Poole will provide Extension support and research in agricultural irrigation, drainage, water management, and rural water supply issues at the local and watershed scale.
