 On Tuesday afternoon, Gary Hendrix sat in his office off Chisolm Road in Raeford, where his family has been farming for almost 70 years. A wide dirt road separated that building from Hendrix’s farmhouse, where his grandfather moved in the early 1950s to start Hendrix Farms.
