John Deere making face shields for healthcare workers

Joining many other manufacturer’s, John Deere is partnering with the UAW, Iowa Department of Homeland Security and the Illinois Manufacturer’s Association to make protective face shields for healthcare employees. The Moline, Ill. factory started production April 8. The company anticipates it will make 25,000 face shields in the initial stages of production and has ordered materials and supplies to produce 200,000 more. The first batch of 25,000 masks will be distributed through John Deere’s 16 U.S. factories in eight states.
