NC lab gets FDA go-ahead for country’s first at-home coronavirus test kit

North Carolina’s LabCorp has gotten the federal go-ahead for an at-home testing kit for COVID-19, the new coronavirus. It’s the first authorized by the Food and Drug Administration. LabCorp of Burlington announced Tuesday that it has received “emergency use authorization” from the FDA for its “Pixel” home-testing collection kit. To be eligible for the at-home testing, a person must be recommended by a healthcare provider.
