Cooper budget: $1.4 billion in COVID-19 spending

 Gov. Roy Cooper announced a $1.4 billion COVID-19 package built on federal funding Friday, with money for expanded coronavirus testing and more than $200 million to boost remote learning and summer programs in public schools. State lawmakers come into session Tuesday and have been developing their funding priorities as well. The House, Senate and Governor's Office will have to mesh those plans in the coming days...
