The Environmental Protection Agency officially announced Thursday that it will not be tightening regulations which would limit the amount of small particles in our air. The EPA sets limits for these particles, which come from things like factories and wildfires, every five years. This announcement comes after Harvard released a study linking severe cases of COVID-19 to air pollution. "EPA staff estimates that on an annual basis on average somewhere between about 13,000 to 51,000 people die prematurely under the current standard," said Chris Frey, Glenn E. Futrell Distinguished University Professor at North Carolina State University.
