Congressional Hispanic Caucus requests investigation into meatpacking worker conditions

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is requesting that President Trump’s administration investigate working conditions for meat processing employees and issue a temporary emergency safety standard, Politico reports.  This follows President Trump issuing an executive order Tuesday mandating that meat processing plants stay open or reopen under the Defense Production Act after multiple closures due to coronavirus outbreaks among workers threaten meat shortages.
