NC STEP is a program that exists to help small businesses grow globally. Qualifying North Carolina companies can now receive up to $6,000 in SBA STEP funds for marketing projects that help them sell internationally. The NC STEP Program can support: the translation of marketing materials (product sheets, catalogs, websites, videos, PPT presentations, internationally-compliant labels, etc.), search engine optimization to attract foreign buyers, and website localization for foreign markets.

The NC STEP Program usually focuses on getting companies face-to-face with foreign buyers, via trade shows and trade missions, but due to restricted travel these days that strategy is on-hold indefinitely.  In response to this, the SBA raised the cap on these marketing services from $3K to $6K.

If you are interested in utilizing STEP funds, please register for a webinar with the EDPNC and IBT Online that discusses Business Development and Online Marketing to help you grow your sales, brand, and business in a COVID-19 age. This webinar will take place on Thursday, May 7th at 10 AM.
