Senate Democrats on Friday raised concerns with the Department of Agriculture (USDA) that President Trump's executive order to keep meatpacking plants open could be putting workers in danger. Twenty-nine Democratic senators, led by Sen. Debbie Stabenow (Mich.), the ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, sent a letter to USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue, urging the his agency to take steps to protect workers before reopening plants.
