ON FARM HAY STOCKS On farm hay stocks totaled 180,000 tons as of May 1, 2020, down 23% from the 235,000 tons reported the same time last year.

WINTER WHEAT Winter wheat production in North Carolina is expected to total 23.2 million bushels for 2020, up 84% from the 12.6 million bushels produced in 2019. Yield per acre at 58 bushels is up 2 bushels per acre from last year’s estimate of 56.
