Major changes planned for this year’s Apple Festival due to COVID-19

Due to ongoing concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, the board of directors for the North Carolina Apple Festival say changes will be made to this year’s event. “We have determined that we are unable to hold a street fair including the associated entertainment and kiddie carnival as well as the King Apple Parade,” Executive Director David Nicholson said in a news release. “Due to our street layout we are not able to control the number of attendees, which would allow for social distancing. This decision was made after speaking with local leaders in government and in the health field."
