Labor and safety challenges of COVID-19 on WNC farms

Western North Carolina growers are handling labor and safety challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. One viewer asks the I-team Coronavirus Help Desk. "I noticed farmworkers in Macon County not wearing masks. There were at least 20 per bus in the fields and three buses. Is this a high risk?" If precautions aren’t taken the virus could spread among workers working and living in close proximity to each other. North Carolina State University has set up a portal to help growers and workers navigate COVID-19.
