Compound in grapes found to reduce Alzheimer’s risk

A study has found that a compound found in grapes is associated with a 48% decrease in risk of Alzheimer dementia. Flavonols, which are bioactive plant compounds, were the focus of a study first published in January and featured in an April issue of the Journal Neurology. “Flavonols are known for promoting beneficial antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities,” according to a news release from the California Table Grape Commission.
