N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative: Launch director's report

The final beam for the Plant Sciences Building was installed on May 5 and will reside under the fifth floor greenhouse complex forever. The Dean and I enjoyed inscribing the encouraging messages from our partners, donors, supporters and colleagues on the beam the week prior. Without your support, and others, the PSB would still be a dream!
Construction on the building is progressing with minimal delays and is on track to be completed in late 2021 or early 2022.
The first four interdisciplinary plant sciences projects funded by the university are underway and I cannot wait to see the discoveries and solutions they produce!
The search for the N.C. PSI Executive Director was placed on hold. Once it is safe, we will invite the final candidates onto campus. Representatives from many groups will be invited to participate in these interviews. Stay tuned.
