It seems as if it’s much too early to worry about tropical storms and hurricanes, but here we are. Fortunately, the USDA and NC State Extension recently published a Hurricane Preparation and Recovery Guide for tobacco producers in the Southeast. We are only 48 – 72 hours away from impact, so the window for preparation is closing fast. We strongly encourage farm operators and managers to review this information!

Hurricane season is off to a fast start this year, please be ready!

The Cooperative Extension Service stands ready to help you during this situation. Please do not hesitate to contact your local Extension agent for assistance and information!

Stay safe!
