As everyone is likely aware, the current situation prohibits public activities that we normally look forward to at this time of year. But that has not diminished the efforts that have gone into the research taking place here at the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center, and it’s our hope that this “virtual” field day will give you some idea of the work that continues to go into the various tomato-related research projects.

This year, typical tomato field day activities, such as plot tours, in-field presentations, displays, taste-tests, etc., could not take place. Instead, the project leaders for the various tomato-related programs, as well as food-safety training coordinators with N.C. Cooperative Extension and N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, have produced videos describing the work that they are involved in this year. The links below are provided for you to access these videos at your convenience.

We look forward to the next Tomato Field Day when everyone can join us at the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center. Thank you.
