Source: PRESS RELEASE, 8/17/20 What: The National Society for Minorities in Agriculture, Natural
Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS), National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) and
the NASDA Foundation will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to increase minority college students’ exposure to employment, educational and business opportunities in the field of agriculture, natural resources and government affairs. The MOU details a five-year partnership through which the three organizations will build on the NASDA-MANRRS
Youth Agriculture Policy Summit, a training program for MANRRS
students covering federal policies that impact the food and agriculture
industry. In addition, the partnership will utilize the NASDA and MANRRS
network to grow student-professional relationships and channel information
about employment opportunities. MANRRS COO Ebony Webber, MANRRS National
President Dr. Antomia Farrell, NASDA CEO
Dr. Barb Glenn and NASDA Foundation Executive Director Dr. Lisa Benson will
host the event and sign the MOU agreement. Time for questions and a public copy

### MANRRS is a
non-profit organization registered in the state of Michigan. MANRRS is a national society that welcomes membership
of people of all racial and ethnic group participation in agricultural and
related science careers. MANRRS attempts to provide networks to support
professional development of minorities. It is a springboard for their entry
into and advancement in careers where they otherwise could be lost in the sheer
number and established connections of mainstream participants.
NASDA is
a nonpartisan, nonprofit association which represents the elected and appointed
commissioners, secretaries, and directors of the departments of agriculture in
all fifty states and four U.S. territories. Established in 1916, NASDA grows
and enhances agriculture by forging partnerships and creating consensus to
achieve sound policy outcomes between state departments of agriculture, the
federal government, and stakeholders.
NASDA Foundation is the only
educational and research organization that directly serves state departments of
agriculture in all 50 states and four U.S. territories. The Foundation focuses
on education, outreach and research that galvanize the agricultural industry.
