The Blackland Farm Managers Tour, this year in a virtual format for the first time in its 50-year history, is now available to the public. More than 50 years ago, farmers in Beaufort, Hyde, Washington and Tyrrell counties faced unique struggles as they worked to farm land that had recently been reclaimed from the swamp. The non-traditional soil they found themselves farming varied greatly from other soils in Eastern North Carolina.
