The Pork Checkoff is a producer-led effort. National Pork Board President David Newman says pig farmers representing all sizes and types of production are surveyed each year. “We pull all these results together from producers throughout our planning process. This is part of our strategic plan that we manage at the National pork board. We pull all these resources together to prioritize things that are the most important for our producers, things that impact the business the most, things that are going to shape the future demand of pork, both domestically and internationally. "
