Treasurer of ENC seafood company has pleaded guilty to mislabeling crabmeat as US product

An eastern North Carolina man had pled guilty to federal charges that his seafood company in Oriental, at his direction, falsely labeled hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of foreign crabmeat as “Product of USA.” Court documents show Jeffrey Styron was the treasurer of the corporate board of officers for Garland Fulcher, a North Carolina company engaged in the business of purchasing, processing, packaging, transporting and selling seafood and seafood products, including crabmeat from blue crab harvested on the East Coast of the U.S..
