Following a steady flow of customers Friday for the opening day of the N.C. Apple Festival, many local apple growers were pleasantly surprised to see their parking lots or makeshift parking fields full to overflowing for much of the second day of festivities at individual farms, orchards and apple houses. The cool, crisp air that warmed in the sunlight greeted locals and out-of-towners to Jeter Mountain Farm neat DuPont State Forest late Saturday morning, as the farm’s overflow parking lot quickly filled.
